Exceeding Your Expectations
Custom Rifles
Simply put, building a rifle from the ground up means the firearm gets our dedicated attention to detail and expert craftsmanship along every step of the process. We use ultra-high quality parts from companies like Defiance Machine, Bartlein, Manners and others to produce a full custom firearm that shoots like a dream and will last for generations.
Firearm Finishing
Metal and wood finish are one of the most important and most fragile parts of a working firearm. CERAKOTE is an modern and durable ceramic paint that works equally well for adding beauty and preventing rust. To address wood stocks we use either a spray polyurethane or a hand rubbed oil finish that will make your stock pop with colors hidden by the factory finish.
Upgrades and Modifications
No need to buy a new rifle, we can make your old gun custom! From glass bedding to re-barreling there are a large number of operations and techniques we use to get your old firearm shooting better than factory.

We now offer both Cerakote H series and Elite series. H series is the classic coating that comes in over a hundred colors. E series is a more durable coating with a smaller selections of colors. Elite series colors also tend to be somewhat glossy.

About Us
Saft Custom builds custom rifles and does firearm finishing. We specialize in bolt action hunting rifles. When not spinning up a fresh build we also modify, upgrade, paint and provide accurizing services.
Ray Saft - Owner
Ray completed his Associates of Applied Sciences in Gunsmithing and Advanced Gunsmithing certificate at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona. He moved back to Anchorage and was employed as a machinist. More recently Ray got the chance to study under well known gunsmith Gordy Gritters, and now runs Saft Custom full time.
